AlterJig is a tile jigsaw puzzle game that allows you to choose from several graphics supplied with the program or create your own using any bitmap. The game then scrambles the puzzle and challenges you to restore it by rotating groups of four tiles at a time. The rotation is controlled by the left and right mouse buttons.

The word alter is a synonym for change, but unlike the more general word change, the term alter carries with it a suggestion of loss of original identity. The other main similar words are vary and modify, which are more apt to describe situations that involve a deviation from sameness or duplication.

Also available as AbcPuzzles, a compilation of Cyclanoid and a different game on the same engine called AlterJig; however, the downloadable version of this game only includes the executable for Cyclanoid and does not include any way to run the included AlterJig data files.
